Pork & Fennel Sausage Rolls

These sausage rolls are not only simple to make they are delicious!

All you need is a roll of puff pastry, some excellent quality cocktail sausages, an egg, and some poppy and sesame seeds.

Ingredients

1 pack puff pastry
12 pork and fennel cocktail sausages
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp sesame seeds

Method

Defrost the puff pastry, lay it out flat, and cut into 12 equal rectangles. You can use the small sausages as a size guide.

Preheat oven to 190C.

Wrap the pastry around the sausage and seal the two edges by pressing together. This becomes the base of your sausage rolls.

Place the rolls on a baking tray. Brush the pastry with egg then sprinkle over poppy and sesame seeds. Bake for 12 mins.

Remove from the oven and brush with remaining egg mixture to ensure a deep dark colour, and bake for another 12 mins or until the pastry is dark and flaky and the sausages are cooked through.

Serve with your favourite tomato sauce or chutney.
