Chocolate Brownies

We’re baking up a storm this week with the best chocolate brownies you’ve ever eaten!

We melted the chocolate and butter in a microwave, but you can melt it in a double boiler if you have one.

We used dark chocolate.

Makes 16

Ingredients

100g milk chocolate
250g butter, cubed
200g brown sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
50g cocoa, sifted
1 cup plain flour
½ tsp baking powder

Method

Preheat oven 160°C.

Place chocolate and butter in a bowl. Melt in a microwave for one minute and 45 seconds. Stir to combine and check that the chocolate is melted.

If the chocolate isn’t completely melted, return it to the microwave in 30-second intervals until the mixture is smooth. Set aside.

Combine sugar, eggs, cocoa, flour, and baking powder in a bowl. Pour in the chocolate and stir until combined.

Pour batter into a greased 25cm brownie tin and bake for 30-35 mins.
